JSON minifier. Less space. Same data.
Remove unnecessary spaces and line breaks from JSON. Keep string content intact and get a compact result.

Minify JSON while keeping string content intact
Minified JSON omits indentation, line breaks, and other whitespace that is unnecessary for parsing. A compact document is useful when preparing a small configuration value, inspecting an API request body, or saving a JSON file without pretty-printing overhead.
The minifier parses the document before serializing it. Spaces inside string values remain part of the data: a name such as Ada Lovelace keeps its space. Invalid JSON is rejected with a useful error instead of producing an unreliable compact result.
Minification is different from gzip or Brotli compression. It removes JSON formatting rather than compressing bytes for transport. Standard JavaScript numeric precision and duplicate-key behavior still apply, so use quoted strings for exact large identifiers. To make compact output readable again, open the JSON formatter and choose Format JSON.
How to use JSON minifier
- Paste a JSON document or upload a .json file.
- Select Minify JSON to remove unnecessary whitespace.
- Compare input and output sizes, then copy or download the compact JSON.
Up to 2 MB of JSON and 100 nesting levels. URL imports require public HTTPS sources with CORS enabled.

Does minifying JSON remove spaces inside strings?
No. Whitespace inside a quoted string is data and is preserved. Only formatting whitespace outside string values is removed.
Is minification the same as compression?
No. Minification removes unnecessary JSON formatting. Compression methods such as gzip and Brotli encode bytes to reduce transfer size and are usually configured on a web server or hosting platform.
Can I beautify the minified result later?
Yes. Use output as input and choose Beautify, or open the JSON formatter and format the compact document. The original choice of indentation is not retained in minified JSON.
