Exports YAML 1.2. Tab indentation uses 2 spaces because YAML requires spaces.

Choose the right format for your JSON data
Different tools expect different data formats. jsonformatkit converts a JSON value into XML, YAML 1.2, comma-separated values (CSV), or tab-separated values (TSV). JSON output is available when you simply want clean indentation or sorted keys.
Use YAML for readable configuration, XML for element-based systems, and CSV or TSV for rows and columns. The conversion runs on your device, and the output is available to inspect before you export it. No account or API key is required.
Not all formats represent data the same way. XML includes explicit type attributes. CSV and TSV flatten nested objects and store nested arrays as JSON inside cells. Read the mapping note under the editor when choosing a format, especially before importing a file into a spreadsheet.
How to use JSON converter
- Paste or upload valid JSON.
- Choose JSON, XML, YAML, CSV, or TSV, then select Convert.
- Review the output and download the matching file, or choose PDF for a readable document.
Up to 2 MB of JSON and 100 nesting levels. URL imports require public HTTPS sources with CORS enabled.

Frequently asked questions
Which output formats can I download?
Native downloads use .json, .xml, .yaml, .csv, or .tsv with UTF-8 encoding. You can also copy any output or export it to PDF. PDF is intended for reading, not as a machine-readable replacement for the native format.
Can every conversion be reversed without changes?
No. CSV and TSV are tabular: null and missing cells are both empty, and nested objects are flattened. XML uses an explicit mapping for types and property names. Keep the original JSON when exact round-trip preservation is required.
Why does importing a JSON URL fail?
The source must be a public HTTPS URL that permits cross-origin browser requests (CORS). Requests omit credentials and time out after 15 seconds. If a source blocks browser access, download its JSON file and use Upload instead.
Built around open standards: JSON (RFC 8259), JSON Schema, and YAML 1.2.
