Looking good. Your JSON is valid.

Object with 11 keys. All brackets, quotes, and commas are in their happy place.

VALID JSON

Objects become rows; nested keys use dot paths. Arrays stay JSON inside cells. Null and missing cells are empty. Dots and backslashes in keys are escaped.

A QUICK FIELD GUIDE

Export JSON records as tab-separated values

TSV is a plain-text table format that separates fields with tab characters. It is useful for spreadsheet imports and data workflows where commas appear frequently inside values. jsonformatkit turns a top-level array into rows and collects a common set of headers across those records.

Nested object properties become dot-separated column paths, and arrays inside a record stay JSON strings in a cell. Null and missing fields become empty cells. Tabs, quotes, and line breaks inside values are quoted and escaped rather than being mistaken for extra columns or records.

Formula protection is enabled by default for safer spreadsheet imports. It adds a leading apostrophe to string cells beginning with formula operators; turn it off only when you need exact text and trust the source. Downloads use UTF-8 with CRLF row separators. TSV is tabular and does not preserve every distinction available in JSON.

How to use JSON to TSV

  1. Paste an array of JSON records or upload a document.
  2. Select Convert to TSV and check the header names and row values.
  3. Download the .tsv file and choose Tab as the delimiter in your receiving tool.

Up to 2 MB of JSON and 100 nesting levels. URL imports require public HTTPS sources with CORS enabled.

A small example

INPUT
[{"name":"Ada","age":30},{"name":"Grace","age":40}]
RESULT
name	age
Ada	30
Grace	40

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CSV and TSV?

CSV separates fields with commas; TSV separates fields with tabs. Both are table formats, and both require escaping when a cell contains the delimiter, quotes, or line breaks.

What happens if a value contains a tab?

The converter wraps that cell in double quotes and doubles any quotation marks inside it. Check that your receiving TSV reader supports quoted fields, especially for multiline values.

Does TSV preserve nested JSON data types?

Not fully. Nested objects are flattened, arrays become JSON text within cells, and null or missing values become empty cells. Use the JSON download when you need the original data model.

Built around open standards: JSON (RFC 8259), JSON Schema, and YAML 1.2.
